On our way to Koh Phi Phi today, Katherine and I were debating what we thought the best beach we’ve ever visited was. We’ve been to A LOT of beaches, so picking the best wasn’t easy.
First, there’s Kuta Beach in Bali for the countless hours of people watching it provides. However, it’s not really an attractive beach, and the seniors in Speedos really doesn’t help. Then there’s Nilaveli Beach in Sri Lanka, which is nothing short of stunning, but as boring as a game of cribbage. Waikiki Beach in Hawaii has crystal clear water, gentle waves for surfing, and spectacular sunsets. Being a tourist hotspot though means the beaches can get so crowded that in high season you’ve got to get up early to claim your spot on the beach.
Enter here, Long Beach on Koh Phi Phi in Thailand, which we just arrived at today! This beach clearly wins our best beach award for its spectacular scenery, seclusion from the madness of Phi Phi, and its jacuzzi warm water. It has just enough things to do to keep you from being bored, yet it’s calm and relaxing enough to make you feel good about the fact that you spent the day doing absolutely nothing!
What’s the best beach you’ve ever been to??
