Whenever we travel somewhere new, a question that is forever asked by friends, travellers, and locals alike is, “What do/did you like best?” Our replies can range anywhere from the food, to the unbelievably majestic scenery. With Sri Lanka, the thing that captivated us the most were their smiles. Always there and always quick on the uptake, you can bet that if you took the step to smile at a Sri Lankan first, you would almost undoubtedly be rewarded with one in return. Which, we might add, is certainly not the case in many of the places we’ve traveled. Here are a collection of smiles that we captured that are the smallest sampling of such wonderfully sincere people.
