Stir Fried Red Tree Ants for Dinner in Phnom Penh, Cambodia

So, being the picky eater that I am, I had a really hard time deciding what to eat at Romdeng restaurant (A Friends Restaurant) in Phnom Penh. I’m not the biggest fan of vegetables, and this menu was looking way to local for me.

I almost opted for nothing until I saw item #26: Stir Fried Red Tree Ants. Beef, rice, and no mention of vegetables other than a little basil. The waiter assured me the ants were small. I call his bullsh*t!

Either way, the meal was actually not half bad. I managed to make it through 3/4 of the meal before my mind got the better of me.

What’s the weirdest meal you’ve ever had on your travels??
