Dear Petronas,
We might’ve gone a little overboard on our iPhoneography of your stunning Twin Towers in Kuala Lumpur. We just couldn’t resist! 88 floors to the top and 451.9 m tall is indeed impressive. You practically dwarf The Bow in our hometown of Calgary, Canada, which stands at just 236 m.
We tried to capture your beauty in many different angles with our Canon 7D, but sometimes, our iPhone 5 seemed to do the job just so much better. A little tweaking with Camera+, combined with an Olloclip for some wide angle and fish eye shots, and voila, a masterpiece is created!
We were so excited to walk the skybridge after learning about how and why it was built on National Geographic’s Megastructures – Petronas Towers. When we heard that tickets were FREE, we couldn’t believe it!! We were even up for the challenge of lining up at 6:00 am to snag such a hot commodity. Unfortunately, we changed our mind after learning they’d gone up to 85 RM (about $30 CDN) each. After all, our hotel room at the Sheraton was nearly on the same floor as the skybridge (37 vs 41), offering just as stunning of a city view.
Thanks again for making our first trip to Kuala Lumpur unforgettable. Hopefully you’ll rethink your pricing for the skybridge, and if not, that’s ok, because you probably look better from the outside anyway!
Yours truly,
Thomas & Katherine
